Oct. 20, 2022 By Max Murray

The police are looking for a man who robbed a 55-year-old woman of her purse on a Forest Hills street Wednesday.

The suspect allegedly bumped into the woman in front of 108-24 Jewel Ave. at around 2:10 p.m., causing her to drop her cellphone.

When the 55-year-old went to pick the phone up, the suspect grabbed her purse from her left arm and then fled on foot.

The suspect was later seen entering the Forest Hills–71st Avenue station. Surveillance video shows him going through the turnstile holding the woman’s purse.

The suspect is described as being in his 40’s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and around 180 pounds.

Police say he has a dark complexion, medium build and short dark hair. He was last seen wearing ripped blue jeans, a multi-colored track jacket, and a blue and white baseball cap with the word ‘Cream’ on it.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
