Woman knocked unconscious and robbed on Forest Hills street yesterday, police say

A woman was hospitalized after being attacked and robbed while walking home from work in Forest Hills yesterday evening.

According to police, the 53-year-old victim was walking in front of 70-47 Harrow Street at 5:45 pm when a man exited his dark blue sedan and attacked her from behind.

He struck her in the head with a hard object three times, knocking her unconscious.

When the victim regained consciousness her handbag was missing, which held about $50 in cash, several credit cards, her house keys and passport.

The victim was taken to North Shore LIJ Forest Hills Hospital with injuries to the back of her head.

The suspect, described as a black man with a beard, fled in an unknown direction in the dark blue car.

The police have not made any arrests and anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

Forest Hills homeowners group threatens legal action against NYPD amid ongoing Forest Hills Stadium concert dispute

The operators of Forest Hills Stadium have accused the Forest Hills Gardens Corporation (FHGC), a neighboring homeowners association, of “sidestepping” the courts and trying to “bully” the NYPD. The accusation follows a letter from FHGC to the NYPD threatening legal action if police continue to issue permits for the stadium’s 2025 concert season.
