The Japanese restaurant Tokyo Teriyaki is closing at the end of this month.

Tokyo Teriyaki, which is located at 68-60 Austin St., announced its plans to close on Facebook and posted a sign in its window. The restaurant is known for serving teriyaki dishes, sushi and ramen.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you,” the message read. “We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your patronage and hope to serve you in the future.”

Although the sign mentioned “the future,” an employee from the restaurant said Friday that Tokyo Teriyaki does not plan to relocate.

Many customers wrote messages on the Facebook post to say that they would miss its food.

“First place I ever had sushi many years ago after school!” wrote Nagrom Duangruoc. “The obsession began with you guys. All the best!”

The owners of the restaurant did not respond to a request for comment by the time this article was published.
