A teenage boy’s phone was stolen while he was waiting on the Union Turnpike – Kew Gardens subway platform last week.

The teen, 18, was waiting on the southbound E train platform at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10 when a man snatched his cell phone and fled, police said.

When the victim tried to chase after the man who took his phone, a second man stopped him and threatened to harm him, according to police.

Both men fled in an unknown direction with the phone.

Police have released video footage of the suspects.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspects is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

This station has become a shopping center for Muggers and Thuggers. I would love to see the stats on this station alone. In the last three years there is a daily occurence of mugging, assault, sexual assault, or just plain theft/robbery. The NYPD needs to be proactive not reactive. Please add more transit police to 67th, 71st, 75th, & UT/QB before more serious crimes begin.

Imagine how much more worse the situation will be when the prisons are completed an filled. Between the homeless hotels, the no bail money necessary and the prison population people, our neighborhoods will become a hell hole.

Neither. Those trains travel East & West. There is a south side and a north side. North platform is Manhattan bound (West) and South platform is East bound. Either platform needs more Transit Officers, Cameras and or beat cops in the area. This is getting out of control weekly and in come cases daily incidents.
