The ticket was bought at Forest Hills Deli Bagels Inc., located at 112-10 Queens Blvd. The ticket was valued at $50,000. Another third-prize-winning ticket, also valued at $50,000, was sold elsewhere in New York State on the same day. The other ticket was purchased at Bourbon Street Bar and Grill, located at 2209 Central Ave. in Schenectady. Dec. 5, 2023 By Ethan Marshall The number of burglaries across Queens has dropped year-to-date through Dec. 3 compared to 2022, according to the latest crime stats from the NYPD. While the degree of change varies between northern and southern Queens, both areas have experienced fewer burglaries. In northern Queens, burglary cases dropped 3.5% year-to-date, from 1,878 in 2022 to 1,813 this year. In southern Queens, the number of burglaries fell 7.8%, from 1,149 to 1,059. Nov. 29, 2023 By Bill Parry A 16-year-old boy was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight while walking past a Forest Hills medical facility last month, according to the NYPD. Police say the teenager was in front of 96-10 Metropolitan Ave. at around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, when he was approached by a stranger who allegedly pulled out a handgun and forcibly removed the victim’s necklace, earrings and his wallet containing $30 in cash, police said. Grand larceny auto incidents are up 39.6% in northern Queens for the year through Nov. 19, rising from 1,718 incidents last year to 2,398 this year.
