The police are looking for two suspects who robbed a 26-year-old man at gunpoint on a subway train in Kew Gardens just after midnight Thursday morning.
The suspects, two men, approached the victim while he was riding a southbound F train as it approached the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens subway station at around 12:30 a.m., police said.
The assailants then pulled out a gun and demanded the straphanger hand over his property, police said.
The perpetrators allegedly stole the victim’s backpack, his cellphone, some clothing and around $800, the NYPD said.
They then fled the train when it stopped at the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens station, police said.
Police released images Monday of the suspects wanted for questioning.
The two assailants were both wearing black sweatpants, gray sneakers and face coverings.
One of the perpetrators was wearing a gray-colored hoody while the second suspect had a camouflage hoody with the word Lakers emblazoned across the front.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). I am glad all these cameras were installed in the subway system so we can all witness #BlackExcellence in action.
At least they are considerate enough to have their faces covered as to not spread the virus. “We’re in this together.”
