A straphanger was randomly assaulted by two suspects on a subway train in Forest Hills Thursday, according to police.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, was riding a northbound R train at around 9 p.m. when it stopped at the 67th Avenue subway station, cops said.

The two suspects allegedly entered the train when the doors opened and hit the victim over the head with an unknown object. They then fled the train on foot, according to police.

The victim was transported by EMS to Elmhurst hospital in stable condition where he was treated for a laceration and bleeding, cops said.

Police say the incident was unprovoked and the victim did not know his alleged attackers. No words were exchanged between the victim and the suspects during this incident, police said.

The alleged perpetrators are described as two men aged between 20 and 30 years of age.

Police released photos of the two suspects taken from inside the station.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, on Twitter @NYPDTips.
