Sanitation Workers Will Continue to Plow Snow Today; School Buildings to Reopen Tomorrow

(NYC Sanitation via Twitter)

Feb. 2, 2021 By Allie Griffin

Sanitation crews will be out in full force today to continue clearing snow to get New York City up and running again.

The city was hit with the most snow in years — 17.2 inches accumulated in Central Park, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Tuesday.

School buildings will reopen Wednesday, de Blasio said, after being closed on Monday and Tuesday.

COVID-19 vaccine sites were also closed both days and will reopen tomorrow.

Meanwhile, restaurants will be able to serve patrons at their outdoor dining set-ups beginning at 3p.m. today, de Blasio said.

Above-ground subway service, which was suspended yesterday afternoon, is also back up-and-running. However, the MTA warned that there may be residual delays.

Alternate side parking is suspended through Saturday and trash pickup is canceled for today as garbage trucks and Sanitation workers focus on snow removal efforts.

New Yorkers can check when their block was last plowed through the city’s official snow plow tracker.
