April 19, 2017 By Staff Report

Police arrested a 31-year-old woman with a lengthy criminal record for robbing two elderly women in Forest Hills last month.

Nikki Newmark, a Forest Hills resident, was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of robbery, according to police.

The first robbery occurred on April 5 when she allegedly pushed a 70-year-old woman to the ground near Yellowstone Blvd/67th Road and stole her purse.

In the second incident on April 16, Newmark allegedly knocked a 73-year-old woman in the vicinity of Yellowstone Blvd/67th PAvenue to the ground in the process of grabbing her purse from behind.

Police said that Newmark has a criminal record dating back about six years, but did not say what other crimes she committed.

Absolutely observed! Why didn’t she do it to some one her age!! Because she would have got a run for her money!! I feel terribly for her victims!! And there’s not a drug in this world that would make me hurt the elderly! Let her rot in jail!

Mayor Adams marks one year of ‘Padlock to Protect’ with pizza and progress in Queens

Mayor Eric Adams marked the one-year anniversary of the launch of the city’s “Operation Padlock to Protect” initiative at a pizzeria on the Rego Park and Middle Village border on Wednesday and touted the significant progress in shutting down more than 1,400 illegal smoke shops across the five boroughs and seizing more than $95 million in illegal product since last May.

“The city was fed up. We heard it at every town hall. This time last year, there were thousands of illegal smoke shops plaguing our city with unlicensed cannabis endangering our children,” Adams said. “One year later, we are proud to announce that we have turned the tide. Thanks to the tireless efforts by our city’s law enforcement officers, we’ve padlocked thousands of illegal shops and created safer streets for children and families. But we’re not stopping there.”
