Off-Duty FDNY Lieutenant Charged With DWI Off the LIE in Forest Hills: NYPD

An off-duty FDNY lieutenant was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly drunk driving on the Long Island Expressway near the Forest Hills/Corona border.

Police say Paul Parr, 35, was driving westbound on the Long Island Expressway at around 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 9, when an officer pulled him over near the Grand Central Parkway, by Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

The lieutenant was driving erratically before police pulled him over, according to reports.

Parr was arrested by at around 8:18 a.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to comply with alcohol blood level testing.

He is due back in Queens Criminal Court in February.

Forest Hills homeowners group threatens legal action against NYPD amid ongoing Forest Hills Stadium concert dispute

The operators of Forest Hills Stadium have accused the Forest Hills Gardens Corporation (FHGC), a neighboring homeowners association, of “sidestepping” the courts and trying to “bully” the NYPD. The accusation follows a letter from FHGC to the NYPD threatening legal action if police continue to issue permits for the stadium’s 2025 concert season.
