A mobile coronavirus testing site has opened at Queens Borough Hall in Kew Gardens.

The site, located at 120-55 Queens Blvd., opened Monday and residents are able to be tested there through Thursday, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards announced today.

Tests are free of charge and do not require insurance or a prior appointment.

The mobile site is open from Dec. 21 through Dec. 23 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Dec. 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

NYC Health + Hospitals staff are conducting the tests from a van parked outside the front of the Hall.

Richards urged residents to visit the site and get tested as the city tries to reduce the spread of the virus.

“Let’s keep our communities and our family members safe and let’s make sure that we’re looking out for our frontline workers,” Richards said.

The announcement comes as the borough’s 7-day average positivity rate stands at 6.89 percent, higher than the citywide average of 5.6 percent–as per the latest figures released for Dec. 18.

The 7-day average for hospitalizations in Queens stood at 57 on Dec. 18, down from 63 on Dec. 16, when it was the highest number in approximately three months.

The average 7-day death rate in the borough was 8, according to the Dec. 18 data.

Was tested at this site on Wednesday 12/22. I work in the Courthouse, it is Saturday 12/25, and I yet have to receive any results. This does not seem to be beneficial in any way

All well and good, but Rockaway Beach also requires testing mobile vans as well. Last I heard we are part of Queens, ya know.
