A man’s decomposing body was found by police in a Woodhaven apartment Wednesday afternoon.

The police received a call at around 1 p.m. of a foul odor coming from an apartment at 76-16 Jamaica Ave. A neighbor complained about the smell and the landlord called the NYPD.

Officers from the NYPD 102 Precinct gained entry and discovered the man under a couch with a trauma injury to his back.

The police have yet to identify the body and the Medical Examiner is determining the cause of death. The man had reportedly been dead for at least two weeks.
