Man robbed on E-train at Jamaica/Van Wyck Station, police say

Police are searching for a man who assaulted a man and stole his necklace on an E train in Kew Gardens.

The 23-year-old victim reported to police that he was riding a Queens-bound E train on February 5 around 4:20 a.m. when an unknown man approached him from behind as the doors opened at Jamaica/Van Wyck station.

The suspect then grabbed the chain around the victim’s neck causing the chain and angel pendant to fall on to the victim’s chest. A second suspect then removed the chain and pendant, which are valued at around $300, and both suspects exited the train and fled.

Police have released a photo of the second suspect, who is described as a black man with a beard who was last seen wearing glasses and a beanie cap.
