The popular New York City music festival Governors Ball will return to Queens this summer and its lineup has been confirmed.

The three-day event, also known as Gov Ball, will be hosted at Citi Field for the second time in its 11-year history.

The festival will return to its traditional slot of June having been held at the venue in September last year due to delays stemming from the pandemic. Governors Ball 2022 will run from June 10 through June 12.

Kid Cudi, Halsey and J.Cole will be headlining the festival across the weekend. Other acts include Migos, Flume, Louis The Child, Tove Lo, Jack Harlow, Joji and Glass Animals.

The music festival — which showcases top artists from a wide variety of music genres — was first held on Governors Island in 2011 and was only a single-day event.

The Gov Ball moved to Randall’s Island in 2012 to accommodate more acts and attendees before switching to Citi Field last year.

Around 150,000 people attended the 2021 festival across the three days, organizers said.

Like last year’s festival, the concert will be held in the parking lots surrounding Citi Field. The asphalt parking lots will be transformed into green grassy lawns with high-grade Astroturf and multiple stages set up around the stadium to create a 360-degrees layout that prevents sound bleed between stages.

The festival organizers said last year that they chose the baseball stadium as the new location because it is close to subways, buses and the Long Island Rail Road. They said the stadium’s easy access allows for more flexibility with potential weather events.

Tickets for the Governors Ball went on sale Thursday.

Forest Hills homeowners group threatens legal action against NYPD amid ongoing Forest Hills Stadium concert dispute

Dec. 4, 2024 By Shane O’Brien

The operators of Forest Hills Stadium have accused the Forest Hills Gardens Corporation (FHGC), a neighboring homeowners association, of “sidestepping” the courts and trying to “bully” the NYPD. The accusation follows a letter from FHGC to the NYPD threatening legal action if police continue to issue permits for the stadium’s 2025 concert season.
