A motorist is dead after he lost control of his car and struck a tree on the Jackie Robinson Parkway Friday night, according to police.

The 26-year-old man was killed when he failed to properly navigate the roadway while driving a 2013 silver Infiniti G37X westbound on the parkway just before 10 p.m., police said.

The victim, who was from Brooklyn, lost control of the sedan near Metropolitan Avenue before smashing into a tree.

EMS responded to the scene and transported him to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, cops said.

Police are investigating whether speeding played a role in the collision. The NYPD did not provide any further details.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending family notification.

Decomposing body of adult found outside Rego Park apartment building: NYPD

Police from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills made a gruesome discovery Sunday after residents of a Rego Park apartment building complained of smelling noxious fumes. Officers found the badly decomposed body of an adult lying in the bushes near scaffolding at 92-40 Queens Blvd. just before 1:00 p.m.

EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. There were no visible signs of trauma and no identification on the body, police said, adding that the sex and age of the victim has not yet been determined, according to an NYPD spokesman, who added that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
