75-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Kew Gardens Hills Saturday

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Saturday in Kew Gardens Hills.

On Sept. 21 at 9:18 p.m., 75-year-old Elou Rakhminov was crossing Jewel Avenue when a Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound on Jewel Avenue toward 141st Avenue and hit him.

When police arrived at the scene, Rakhminov was unconscious and unresponsive. EMS arrived and transported him to New York Presbyterian Hospital – Queens, where he was pronounced dead.

The 30-year-old driver remained on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Rakhminov was just blocks away from his home on 138th Street when he was killed.
