A 12-year-old boy has been arrested for scrawling swastikas and other anti-Semitic symbols on a Rego Park playground last week.

The boy, whose name has not been released, was charged yesterday with aggravated harassment, according to news reports.

The boy allegedly drew dozens of swastikas and messages such as “Heil Hitler (sic)” in chalk over the school yard at P.S. 139, located at 93-06 63rd Dr.

The drawings were discovered by the school’s custodian on Friday morning. Students were off school for midwinter recess but the playground was open to the public.

“Truly unbelievable,” Council Member Karen Koslowitz wrote on twitter. “I am shocked that a 12-year-old committed this crime. It’s completely unacceptable and has no place in society.”

It’s extremely unfortunate that this “child” did this. But being arrested is ridiculous. The parents should definitely be held responsible. The world has become too sensitive. There are many other ways to handle this.

What the heck! Parents should be held responsible for this as well as the kid. Custodians will clean up, I would have made the kid do it.

We all know how strict “lawn force meant” is… Has to be green and has to be manicured.

Clearly you didn’t see the massive amount of writing scrawled all over the playground because you think this was just “the swastika.” Nor do you know who the custodians of this 12 year old are and whether the messages scrawled may have come from them, which is more than possible. That you think carving swastikas into the foreheads of politicians a la Charles Manson is another frightening thought.

A 12-year-old should not of been arrested. Regardless of the lies that lawn force meant and courts will tell about his record being sealed when he is 18… I am living proof that it will never be sealed. End of story. He doesn’t even no the history behind the swastika. The custodians should do their job and clean it up and it definitely deserves a suspension and possible psychological assistance but definitely not an arrest. So all the lowlife Lawmakers, politicians, and law-enforcement call believe that this kid understands what he did… Should have swastikas carved into their foreheads.

And what gives you the right to judge? The “lawn force” and others? And assume what the 12 year old “no’s” or not? I am pretty sure a 12 year old is fully aware of what he is doing and if he wasn’t hopefully he now is.
