Nov. 29, 2023 By Bill Parry A 16-year-old boy was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight while walking past a Forest Hills medical facility last month, according to the NYPD. Police say the teenager was in front of 96-10 Metropolitan Ave. at around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, when he was approached by a stranger who allegedly pulled out a handgun and forcibly removed the victim’s necklace, earrings and his wallet containing $30 in cash, police said. Nov. 21, 2023 By Ethan Marshall The number of vehicles being stolen, categorized by the NYPD as grand larceny auto, has increased throughout Queens year-to-date, compared to the same period in 2022, according to the latest crime stats released by the NYPD. Grand larceny auto incidents are up 39.6% in northern Queens for the year through Nov. 19, rising from 1,718 incidents last year to 2,398 this year. Nov. 16, 2023 By Ethan Marshall New York City was named among the least affordable cities in the United States over the month of October, according to the latest National Affordability Report from the real estate firm RealtyHop. The Big Apple ranked as the fourth-least affordable city, moving up from the fifth place spot in the prior month’s report.
