Decomposing body of adult found outside Rego Park apartment building: NYPD

Police from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills made a gruesome discovery Sunday after residents of a Rego Park apartment building complained of smelling noxious fumes. Officers found the badly decomposed body of an adult lying in the bushes near scaffolding at 92-40 Queens Blvd. just before 1:00 p.m.

However, northern Queens has experienced a significant decline in grand larcenies over this same period of time. Over the course of the 28-day period, reported rapes in northern Queens increased 41.7%, from 12 in 2023 to 17 in 2024. Meanwhile, grand larcenies decreased 10%, from 518 to 466. More than two months after random attack injured man in Kew Gardens, suspect remains at large: NYPD


Dec. 18, 2023 By Bill Parry A man suffered a head injury during an unprovoked attack near the Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike subway station on Queens Boulevard in October and the suspect is still on the run more than two months later. Gunman sought in armed robbery of teen in Forest Hills: NYPD

Nov. 29, 2023 By Bill Parry A 16-year-old boy was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight while walking past a Forest Hills medical facility last month, according to the NYPD. Police say the teenager was in front of 96-10 Metropolitan Ave. at around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, when he was approached by a stranger who allegedly pulled out a handgun and forcibly removed the victim’s necklace, earrings and his wallet containing $30 in cash, police said.
