Forest Hills Thai Restaurant Temporarily Closed by Health Dept, Second Time in a Year

A Forest Hills Thai restaurant has been temporarily closed by the Health Department for the second time in a year.

Thai Pot, located at 103-07 Queens Blvd, was inspected on Feb. 1 and received 55 violation points. The restaurant was cited for numerous sanitary violations, including live roaches.

The restaurant was closed by the Health Department on July 3 after it received 48 violation points. The health inspector at that time described seeing evidence of mice and roaches. Cold food was also held above 41 degrees, and food was not protected from a source of contamination.

Thai Pot was authorized to reopen on July 7.

The health inspector recorded the following violations on Feb. 1. The first three were listed as critical.

1) Cold food item held above 41º F (smoked fish and reduced oxygen packaged foods above 38 ºF) except during necessary preparation.

2) Live roaches present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.

3) Hand washing facility not provided in or near food preparation area and toilet room. Hot and cold running water at adequate pressure to enable cleanliness of employees not provided at facility. Soap and an acceptable hand-drying device not provided.

4) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.

5) Non-food contact surface improperly constructed. Unacceptable material used. Non-food contact surface or equipment improperly maintained and/or not properly sealed, raised, spaced or movable to allow accessibility for cleaning on all sides, above and underneath the unit.

Im glad the inspector. Came back maybe they will close now. I would never go there ever.Ugh

unbelievable! I had a gut feeling about that place, good thing I never dined there. It should be shut down for good.
