Jul. 24, 2023 By Carlotta Mohamed

Flushing Councilwoman Sandra Ung will host an upcoming job recruitment event with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to fill seasonal positions for the 2023 U.S. Open.

The job recruitment event will take place on Wednesday, July 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Tangram Mall Atrium, which is located at 133-33 39th Ave. in Flushing

The event presents an opportunity to earn extra money while building your resume as part of the team behind one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world.

“The U.S. Open is hosted annually in Flushing’s backyard, and residents should take advantage of the thousands of good-paying seasonal jobs that are created each year,” Ung said. “This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get started in the hospitality industry or interested in pursuing a new career. It is also an excellent way for a young person to begin to build their work experience.”

The U.S. Open, which takes place from Aug. 22 to Sept. 10, brings together the world’s best tennis players, as well as spectators eager to experience world-class competition. To ensure the tournament’s success, the USTA is looking to recruit individuals who can help deliver an unparalleled guest experience.

Walk-ins for the job recruitment event will be accommodated if time permits, but people are encouraged to register in advance at [email protected] or 718-888-8747. Please provide your contact information and a resume if one is available. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

During the event, prospective candidates will have the opportunity to speak with USTA representatives about entry-level and resume-building positions in the area of Guest Services, Player Services, Facilities Operations, Courts & Grounds, and Administrative & IT.
