Two people, including a six-year-old boy, were killed in a fire at an East Flushing home early Monday morning.
The pair, reported to be a father and son, perished in the fire that broke out at about 1:13 a.m. inside the two-story home located on 157th Street near 46th Avenue, police said.
The fire broke out on the first floor of the house, where the six-year-old and his 65-year-old father were found unconscious and unresponsive. They were pronounced dead at the scene, police said,
The boy’s twin brother was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition. He is being treated for burns to his body, according to police.
About 60 firefighters responded to the blaze and got it under control at around 2:22 a.m. Two firefighters also suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, the FDNY said.
The FDNY is investigating the cause of the fire.
The identities of the deceased are pending family notification.
