July 29, 2020 By Allie Griffin

Police are looking for a man who allegedly grabbed a senior by the neck and robbed her inside her Rego Park building Tuesday.

The suspect approached a 72-year-old woman as she was checking the mail in her building lobby near 64th Avenue and 98th Street at around 12:30 p.m., police said.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck from behind and demanded she hand over her valuables. He then grabbed her jewelry and $60 before fleeing the building in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim suffered some pain and bruising and was treated on the scene.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspect is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, or on Twitter @NYPDTips.

Another day for Mayor Butthead to say “this is unacceptable”. He’s a joke and that’s probably why Commissioner O’Neill left because he couldn’t run the NYPD the way it should be run.
