A 60-year-old cyclist suffered head injuries after being struck in a hit-and-run crash in Jamaica early Friday morning.
The man was riding his bicycle southbound on Van Wyck Expressway Service Road, south of the intersection at 107th Avenue, when a vehicle plowed into him at around 5:20 a.m., according to police.
The cyclist was thrown to the ground and his head hit the pavement, police said.
The rider sustained internal head injuries and was transferred by EMS to a local hospital. Police said he was listed as being in stable condition.
The vehicle, believed to be a truck, was heading in the same direction as the cyclist when it struck the man. The driver failed to stop at the scene, police said.
No arrests have been made and the case is still under investigation, police said.
