Police are searching for a man who is beating and robbing women on the streets of Forest Hills.
The suspect has attacked and robbed three women over the last two months, each time physically assaulting them and then taking their belongings, according to police.
The first reported incident was on January 18, when a 63-year-old woman reported that an unknown man approached her on at the corner of 65th Avenue and 99th Street around 8:20 p.m.
He then threatened her with a knife and punched her in the face before grabbing her purse, containing an iPhone and some credit cards, and fleeing on foot towards 102nd Street.
The woman suffered from bruising to her face but refused medical attention.
The second robbery occurred on February 8 in front of 110-17 70th Road around 5:50 p.m., when the suspect approached an 82-year-old woman from behind and hit her in the head with a blunt object, knocking her to the ground.
He took her purse, containing two credit cards and a debit card, and fled in an unknown direction. The victim suffered from lacerations to the back of her head and was taken to Forest Hills Hospital in serious but stable condition.
The most recent incident occurred Tuesday night around 5:45 p.m. outside of 70-47 Harrow Street, when the suspect exited a blue sedan and hit a 53-year-old woman in the back of the head with a blunt object, knocking her unconscious.
When she regained consciousness she found that her purse was gone, containing four debit cards, two credit cards and $51 in cash.
She suffered lacerations to the back of the head and was taken to Forest Hills Hospital in serious but stable condition.
The suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall black man with a medium build and was last seen wearing a dark colored sweatshirt.
Police have released a sketch of the suspect and anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
