A new French-inspired, rotisserie-focused restaurant has officially opened its doors for business.

La Rotisserie Du Coin, located at 107-10 71st Road in Forest Hills, began serving its traditional French dishes on Jan. 24. The restaurant will host an official grand opening celebration on Feb. 14.

Owners Jimmy and Sonia Arouche are Forest Hills residents, and opened the bistro after noticing a need for a fast-casual, rotisserie restaurant in the neighborhood.

“We couldn’t find any delicious rotisserie chicken that we were used to finding in France, so we decided to bring it back to our neighborhood and La Rotisserie Du Coin was born,” Sonia said.

The eatery is centered around its rotisserie-style chicken, which is made in-house using all natural, organic poultry. The couple created the menu’s recipes based off the same flavors that they enjoyed during their time in France.

The restaurant’s menu features dishes made exclusively out of its rotisserie chicken, including sandwiches, crepes and chicken platters. Each meal is served with a side, which includes options such as ratatouille and rotisserie potatoes.

The restaurant’s interior was designed by Sonia—she hand-selected the wood used inside the space, choosing the bark from a 125-year-old spruce tree to make the benches, tables and bar tops found throughout the restaurant.

The couple also said plans are in the works for an outdoor seating area.

La Rotisserie Du Coin seats 19, and offers take-out and delivery options. The restaurant is open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

They’ll get more customers if they switch from butter to olive oil. For one thing, it’s healthier, for another, some religions forbid mixing milk products with meat.
