Passengers arriving or departing from the Kew Gardens Long Island Rail Road station will no longer have to travel far to get a cup of coffee.
After six months of renovating the space where Odradeks Coffee was once located, the new proprietor of 82-60 Austin St. held a grand opening of “Expresso Cafe” yesterday. The name of the shop is a play on words referring to the LIRR station that is less than six feet away.
The hours of operation for the remainder of the winter season are Monday through Thursday, 5:00 am to 8:00 pm, Friday from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm and Sunday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. The cafe will be closed on Saturdays for Shabbat.
Cups of espresso will be served from a state-of-the-art Faema coffee machine, while pastries, desserts, sandwiches, organic fruits and garden salads will also be offered. Customers will also have access to free Wi-Fi.

Wow:I was hoping to give this new local business support but based on these reviews it sounds as if the owner does not care about the needs of our neighborhoods disabled so I’ll pass on spending money there and support businesses that do care and are invested in what is best for our neighborhoods . Thanks for these honest comments : you saved me a trip , wasted money and disappointment . Thyme Cafe, Cippolina & Red Pipe will always be my go-tos as they are wonderful neighbors and caring business people.
Atmosphere is nice, coffee was average, and pastries are gross and stale on the two chances I gave them. Will not be returning.
Still closed on Saturdays? No thanks.
Wow, why is NYPD not ticketing him?
This morning he isn’t parked in the Handicapped spot, instead he has found a nice convenient one on the sidewalk outside his café.
Today he parked on the sidewalk blocking people on the LIRR station at Kew Gardens. Police were notified.
Owner has now taken to parking on the LIRR sidewalk. But give this self entitled fool your money as you have to walk around the BMW you are paying for.

I went to the store this morning and the coffee is good and the inside is renovated to a high standard however I witnessed the owner/manager using the handicapped spot as his personal parking spot. At 9am there was a woman in a wheelchair van who was unable to park there and she was mad as she was going to miss her 9:14 am train. I mentioned to the owner and he shrugged like it wasn’t an issue.
The owner is Illegally parking his BMW in the Handicapped spot and ignoring requests not to by patrons.
