Iconic rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd will be making a stop at the Forest Hills Stadium on their North American farewell tour this July. Best known for their hits such as “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Free Bird,” Lynyrd Skynyrd will take the Forest Hills Stadium stage on July 14.

The band, which came together more than five decades ago and has consistently toured since the 90s, began their career-concluding tour last year. They will head out on the second leg of their tour this May, traveling across the U.S. and Canada to reach their goal of revisiting every concert venue and market they’ve previously performed at throughout their 55-year career.

The Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour, named after a song by the same name on their fifth album, will also feature Southern rock singer-songwriter Hank Williams, Jr.

Tickets will be available to the public starting Friday April 19 at 10 a.m. at the Forest Hills Stadium box office, located outside the stadium on Burns Street, as well as online. The box office will be open every Friday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., but will open at 10 a.m. on April 19, and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets can also be purchased in Williamsburg at Rough Trade, located on Bedford Avenue near the L train stop, during box office hours.

I watched the Lynyrd Skynyrd biography on Crave TV and was so moved by it! every time I hear ‘you got that right’ … they did get it right regarding the old folks home! wow hey! I play piano and when I heard how Billy Powel plays Freebird and Tuesday”s Gone really inspires me to learn it. I live in the BC (north) Okanagan and would love for your band to come this way. I know you played in Abbotsford on March 16th, I couldn’t Make it there but did come to Abbotsford the day after for a celebration of life for a family member. A gal I’ve always loved but we hadn’t seen each other in 20+ years, was at your concert and said your band was fabulous! I’m jealous
Short sorry long… your brother Ronine was an awesome lyric writer an I believe he is VERY proud of you for keeping his legacy alive!

The New York City Council passed a landmark bill on Wednesday, aiming to relieve renters of paying hefty broker fees — a cost that will now fall on the party who hires the listing agent. Known as the FARE Act (Fairness in Apartment Rentals), the legislation passed with a veto-proof majority of 42-8, despite opposition from Republicans and conservative Democrats.
