A takeout restaurant offering Peruvian food opened on Austin Street this week.
The restaurant, called Ayahuasca, is located at 68-60 Austin Street and offers standard Peruvian fare, such as rotisserie chicken, chicken fried rice, ceviche, beef stew and soup.
The Peruvian-born owner, Adriana Morote, says she will offer native food items that is harder to find from other Peruvian-American restaurants, such Panchamanca, which is made of three kinds of meats, lima beans and sweet potatoes, all marinated in different herbs and spices.
Blood Clam Ceviche, a seafood dish native to South and Central America, will also be served on occasion.
The establishment is modestly sized, with room for just two or three people to dine, so the operation is geared around take out and delivery. Signage has yet to go up.
Adriana said she cooks using fresh produce and avoids processed food.
“People need to understand that food is something you should respect, because it is going to affect your body, and it can either heal you or be used to make you more sick,” Morote said. “What I want to do is heal people through food and warm up their hearts.”
Hours of operations for the next two weeks are 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with plans to expand hours and menu items in the summer. Delivery is offered by calling (347) 890 – 7009:

Prices are variable according to fish catch of the day and menu. We do not have everything or the same every day. We made special dishes by order. The lunch box cost is 7. We change the menu daily. Our menu will be published on seamless and grubhub.com!
I don’t see any prices on this menu. Am I not looking in the correct place?
