A 21-year-old man was shot on the platform at the 75th Ave. E/F train station in Forest Hills just before noon.
Police said that two men approached the victim, with one of the suspects shooting the 21-year-old in the left leg. The men then fled in an unknown direction.
The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital, where he is listed in non life-threatening condition.
Subways trains are bypassing the station.
Update: F trains are bypassing 75 Av in both directions while NYPD conducts an investigation at that station.

Less than five years ago this was probably one of the quietest stations in all of NYC. Now in less than one month we have a slashing, a stabbing and a shooting. We need a changing of the guard here since the Community Board and elected officials are asleep at the wheel.
Demographics are changing in Queens, and not for the better.
Homelessness is out of control and the quality of residential areas is on a downward spiral
Sad to say that after a decade of living here it time to move. What attracted me to the area was quiet suburban living within NYC and not having to live in Nassau or Westchester to commute into NYC however over the last ten years other areas have gentrified, improved and flourished and FH & KG seemed to have degraded. I see homelessness like never before, crime in subway stations or on the corner of Union/QB, or along Austin St later in the evenings. One of the best kept secrets of NYC is now an area not much different than the rest of NYC.
How can violence stop in the train station
Putting transit officers in the stations like they have in the past along with placing homeless shelters and prisons in other areas instead of residential areas. You know the way Mayors of yester-year have done.
