Woman Falls Onto Tracks at Kew Gardens–Union Turnpike Station, Train Passes Over Her: NYPD

A woman fell onto the tracks at the Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike station earlier today and is now being treated for her injuries after an incoming train passed over her, according to police.

The 41-year-old woman was standing on the southbound E/F platform at the station when she fell onto the tracks at around 1:44 p.m. today.

Police say the approaching train was unable to stop, and passed over the woman, who remained lying flat on her back in the middle of the tracks.

The victim was conscious and alert upon arrival by emergency personnel, and was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where she is being treated for her injuries, according to the FDNY.

Police suspect no criminal wrongdoing at the time.

A bystander tweeted that a Good Samaritan had apparently jumped to rescue the woman and pull her off the tracks after the train had passed.
