Woman’s Spine Fractured in Forest Hills Subway Attack, NYPD Investigating Case as Hate Crime

Suspect (NYPD)

Dec. 9, 2018 By Christian Murray

The police are looking for a man who viciously beat a 20-year-old woman on board an E-train in Forest Hills last month after uttering anti-gay slurs.

The suspect got into a dispute with the woman on a Manhattan-bound E train en route to the 71-Continental Avenues Station on Friday, Nov. 30 at about 5:10 p.m. During the course of an argument, the suspect made homophobic statements.

The Daily News reports that the suspect went into a rage after he saw another woman kiss the victim on the cheek.

As the victim walked away from the suspect, the enraged man sucker-punched her in the back of her head and shoved her to the ground, causing her to strike her head.

The suspect then exited the train and the subway station at the 71-Continental Avenues stop.

The victim was transported by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where she was treated for a fractured spine. The investigation is being conducted by the NYPD Hate Crime Task Force.

The suspect is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 220 pounds, and 50-60 years old.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-8477, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.

I agree that cases are not charged correctly. In this case he should get a nice long stay on us in a place upstate with 40’ walls. If you’re that sick you don’t belong on the street

Isn’t it interesting that when a woman is assaulted, it is immediately investigated as a hate crime, but when a Jewish youth is beaten by a mob, the police don’t seem to have enough evidence of a hate crime?

I kiss my women friends on the cheek all the time – when we meet and when we leave each other. This a-hole just hurt her for no reason than his own hatred probably for everybody. I hope she’s okay.
