Man Accused of Sex Trafficking in Connection With Woman Last Seen at Rego Park Motel

Motel where Slusser was last seen

Nov. 2, 2018 By Christian Murray

A Manhattan man has been arrested for forcing two young women into prostitution—including a Pennsylvania woman who was last seen at a Rego Park hotel.

Ishi Woney, 23, was charged in Manhattan federal court yesterday on sex trafficking charges and sexually exploiting two women, including 19-year-old Corinna Slusser who went missing in September 2017, federal prosecutors said.

Slusser, who grew up in the small town of Bloomsburg, remains missing after being last seen on Sept. 20 at the Haven Motel, located at 68-05 Woodhaven Blvd.

“Woney engaged in a vile form of exploitation, using force and other coercion to compel young women to engage in paid sex for his enrichment,” U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said in a statement.

Slusser came to New York in August 2017 and in early September she reserved a room in a Bronx hotel, known by police as a hot-spot for sex trafficking. She met Woney and days later she had a photo of Woney and the other female victim on her social media page, authorities say.

Woney allegedly placed an online ad prostituting the women. The headline read: “Two girl special…Always ready for fun…Please be RESPECTFUL,” according to court documents, which included pictures of Slusser and the other female.

Woney and Slusser, authorities said, exchanged over 800 text messages between Sept. 10 and 20.

On Sept. 20, Woney had a falling out with Slusser because the other victim was jealous of their relationship.

Slusser was last seen with Woney at the Woodhaven Boulevard hotel.

Woney faces the maximum of life in prison.

The FBI is still looking to find Slusser, and asks anyone with information to call them at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
