NYPD Release Video of Wallet Thief

Police have released surveillance footage of a man who stole a rider’s wallet on the F train and bought merchandise with a debit card inside.

Police say that the 21-year-old victim’s wallet was stolen as the northbound train was between the 63rd Drive station and the Union Turnpike station between 1:30 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday.

The suspect then used one of the victim’s debit cards at different businesses to buy merchandise between 2:45 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. He was taped on surveillance video at Express Candy Store, 38-03 Junction Boulevard.

Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned 25-year-old with his hair in cornrows.
