Forest Hills Biergarten to Host Three Weeks of Oktoberfest Festivities Beginning this Saturday

A Forest Hills bar that recently opened an elaborate beer garden is kicking off three weeks of Oktoberfest festivities this Saturday.

Cobblestones Pub, located at 117-18 Queens Blvd., will be offering German beer, food specials and music in its large backyard space called the Forest Hills Biergarten.

“With the Biergarten finally open, there really is no better place to be in Forest Hills to celebrate Oktoberfest than right here,” said bar owner Pete Massaro Jr., who runs the establishment with his father Pete Massaro Sr.

Eighteen German beers will be on tap, and both traditional and new twists on German dishes will be available to order, such as bratwurst, “chickenwurst”, “currywurst,” beef schnitzel and “#jagerschnitzel.”

Patrons will get to celebrate Oktoberfest in the outdoor venue that measures about 4,000 square feet, and features a full bar, communal picnic tables for dining, and a decorative beer faucet fountain that mimics a waterfall.

The celebration begins at 11 a.m. with the launch of Biergarten’s weekend brunch menu, which for $14 includes a choice of items such as avocado toast w/poached egg, spicy breakfast burritos, eggs benedict, half pound hamburgers, steak and eggs, cobb salads and more.

For $29, guests will receive two hours of bottomless brunch with either Bloody Marys, Frosés (frozen rosé), mimosas, draft beer or screwdrivers. Brunch orders – available through 3 p.m. – will also be served with bacon, home fries and toast.

Musicians will perform on Saturday, and stein hoisting competitions will be held sporadically throughout the three-week festival.

Then on Sept. 22, a full pig roast will be served to all those who attend the festivities while supplies last.

The Biergarten and Cobblestones Pub will also continue to offer its other popular specials and events during Oktoberfest.

On weekdays, drink and food specials will be available, such as Taco Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to midnight. This special includes $2 chicken or ground beef tacos, $5 flavored margaritas, or $5 shots of Jose Cuervo, Sauza or 1800 brand tequila.

All NFL, college football, and college basketball games will also be broadcast on televisions at the Biergarten and inside Cobblestones Pub throughout the year, as well as other sporting events.

The bar particularly has a close relationship with St. John’s University’s men’s basketball team.

“As one of St. John’s University’s biggest sponsors, Cobblestones Pub is the number one Red Storm headquarters in the Forest Hills-Kew Gardens area, and the go-to place for all St. John’s basketball games.” Pete Massaro Sr. said, noting that there are about 30 HDTVs to watch from inside the bar and outside at the Biergarten combined.

The Canello vs. GGG boxing event will also be televised at Cobblestones Pub this Saturday at 10 p.m. A $30 entry fee at the door provides admission and two draft beers for the pay-per-view fight.

It looks inviting, but if you want the real thing, there’s still Bohemian Hall in Astoria. One Hundred years and counting.

They should add more meat, as a vegan you are being cruel to plants and such. How would you feel if you were plucked out of the ground and just cut up and put in a salad. The horror and pain those plants must feel. #stopeatingvegan

The New York City Council passed a landmark bill on Wednesday, aiming to relieve renters of paying hefty broker fees — a cost that will now fall on the party who hires the listing agent. Known as the FARE Act (Fairness in Apartment Rentals), the legislation passed with a veto-proof majority of 42-8, despite opposition from Republicans and conservative Democrats.
