Bagel Boss Opens on Main Street in Kew Gardens Hills

Another Bagel Boss location

Aug. 27, 2018 By Tara Law

Bagel Boss, an old-school chain with operations in Long Island and Manhattan, opened a store in Kew Gardens Hills today.

The chain, which has been around for half a century, opened its 14th shop at 69-48 Main Street this morning.

Besides bagels, the eatery also serves bialys and flagels; classic American breakfasts and pastries; and frozen yogurt.

Adam Rosner, whose family owns the chain, said earlier this summer that the shop had planned to open in the spring, but that various logistical obstacles had forced them to delay the opening.

Rosner said that his family are “sixth generation bagel makers” descended from Bialy, Poland— the homeland of the bialy bagel.

The new shop serves many of the same items as the other stores, including pancakes and omelets. However, the store features a larger selection of baked goods such as black and white cookies, muffins, turnovers and danishes.

To cater to the neighborhood’s large Jewish community, the bagel shop keeps kosher under the supervision of Vaad Harabonim of Queens.

Bagel Boss also offers in-store WiFi and catering.
