Police are searching for man who attempted to rob First Central Savings Bank in Forest Hills yesterday.

The man went inside the bank at 71-66 Austin St. at 11:05 a.m., walked up to the teller and demanded money, police said.

The teller, however, took a while to retrieve the cash so the suspect fled without taking any money, police said.

The suspect then changed his clothes outside the bank and took off on foot west on Austin Street.

The man was wearing a blue and white hoodie, grey sweatpants and blue sneakers when he entered the bank. Outside, he took off his sweater and changed his shoes. He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved shirt, grey pants and black shoes.

Police describe the suspect as a 30-to-40 year-old white man, who is about 6 feet tall and has a mustache.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
