Jan. 31, 2018 By Tara Law

British indie rock band alt-J will hold its biggest U.S. concert ever at Forest Hills Stadium on June 15.

The concert will feature a sound system called L-ISA that creates a “hyperrealistic soundscape,” which is designed to ensure that all 14,000 ticket holders get high quality sound throughout the stadium.

All tickets will be sold as general admission “so that fans can enjoy the show from every angle,” the band’s web site reads.

Alt-J is known for its innovative and quirky music. It has released three albums, including Grammy-nominated record “This is All Yours,” Mercury Prize-winning “An Awesome Wave,” and most recently “Relaxer.”

“Alt-J are known for pushing the boundaries in their songwriting and also the production on their records. This is another way for them to push the boundaries of their live sound,” said band promoter Jim Merlis in an email to QueensPost.

Alt-J announced the show via social media Monday.

“This is a milestone in our American touring history & we want you all to share it with us,” the band Tweeted.

Jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington will be the opening act.

Presale tickets for the show are now available.

The concert is the third show announced as part of the Forest Hills Stadium’s 2018 summer concert series. Belle & Sebastian will hold a show with Perfume Genius on June 8. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will co-headline with The Head and the Heart on June 9.
