A new art studio that teaches painting in a fun, casual atmosphere is coming to Forest Hills this February.
Painting with a Twist, to be located at 97-14 Metropolitan Ave., will host laid-back painting sessions taught by local artists. The location will offer wine and beer, and will have a bar on site. Guests are also invited to bring their own beer, wine or nonalcoholic beverages.
The Forest Hills location is part of national franchise. There are nearly 350 Painting with a Twist locations in 39 states, including in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Co-Owner Felecia Singh said that for busy parents like her and her husband, a night at Painting with a Twist can be a “little escape.” Even people without any artistic experience can enjoy the classes, she said.
“Most people haven’t picked up a paintbrush since kindergarten,” she said.
The Forest Hills studio will offer classes in keeping with the company’s relaxed vibe and will include “Girls Night” and “Date Night” evening classes; “Coffee and Canvas” morning classes; and classes for children and families. Private events, such as office team building events, birthday parties and bridal showers are also available.
One or two classes will take place each week day, and three to four will take place on weekend days. A schedule will be provided on their website about a month before opening.
Classes will cost $35 for two hours or $45 for three hours. Drinks are separate.
Guests can hold “Painting for a Cause” events for the charity of their choice.
