Austin Street and Continental Avenue (Queens Post)

The holiday lights will shine yet again on Austin Street, with the concert promoters at Forest Hills Stadium paying the tab.
The festive lights were going to be gone this year since the Forest Hills Chamber of Commerce that has traditionally raised funds to pay for them was unable to cover the cost. Businesses and property owners did not contribute the amount needed.
Councilwoman Karen Koslowitz said that when she heard that the holiday lights would be down she reached out to Tiebreaker Productions, the promoters, to see if the company could help pay for them.
Tiebreaker, she said, has a fund that it uses dedicated to keeping the streets near the stadium clean. The fund is a way for the promoter to give back to the community, in lieu of the noise and traffic the venue generates.
“I called and asked them if we could use the money for the lights,” Koslowitz said. “They were more than happy.”
On Friday, Koslowitz is going to hand over a $9,100 check to the chamber on behalf of the promoters.
Koslowitz said that she likes to walk around and see all the holiday lights, adding that it brings cheer.

I wish you would leave a list of all non contributing businesses since I’m a consumer- u would think they would want to contribute for the holiday lights
