A 73-year-old woman died last week from injuries she sustained from being struck by a car in Rego Park about six weeks ago, according to police.

The woman was hit at around 3:00 pm on July 1 at the intersection of Saunders Street and 63rd Avenue, leaving her with severe injuries to her head and right leg.

She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital at the time and died from her injuries on Aug. 15.

A police investigation determined that a black Honda Pilot was on Saunders Street and making a left turn on 63rd Avenue when it hit the 73-year-old woman, who was crossing Saunders Avenue. The driver remained at the intersection after the incident.

The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is currently investigating the incident, and no arrests have been made.

The woman’s identity has not been released, as her family has not been notified yet, police say
