Man dead in Rego Park hit-and-run

Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a pedestrian this morning in Rego Park.

The pedestrian, believed to be a man in his 30s, was killed near 63rd Drive and Booth Street at around 2 a.m., police said.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed the yet-to-be identified man in the roadway unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to his head and body. EMS responded and transported the victim to North Shore Hospital in Forest Hills where he was pronounced deceased.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
