A 79-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a street in Middle Village Monday, according to police.

Helena Conti was hit by a driver in a blue sedan at around 5:55 p.m. while crossing Cooper Avenue near St. John Cemetery, police said.

Conti, who lived on Dartmouth Street in Forest Hills, was struck midblock — between 82nd Street and 83rd Street, cops said. The driver fled the scene.

Responding officers found Conti lying on the ground with severe trauma to the body. She was transported to Elmhurst Hospital by EMS where she was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests.
